Johnnie Walker Commemorative 1920 Edition

Price: Not for sale

The Story

As part of the series created to commemorate key milestones in the history of Johnnie Walker, The Commemorative 1920 Edition is truly special. Exactly 100 years earlier in 1820, a young John Walker set up his own grocer’s shop in the thriving local town of Kilmarnock. By 1920, the company’s whisky blends had travelled from the four corners of Scotland to the four corners of the world.

The Making

The blend, crafted specially using a modern interpretation of a classic technique used in 1920, is impossible to replicate in the future as it includes whiskies from silent distilleries, such as Rosebank distillery. Only 500 bottles were created.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Fresh with fruity and floral hits of heather and sweet vanilla
Palate: Almonds, toffee and fudge combined with fresh fruit
Finish: Gentle Highland smoke

Did You Know

The blend features Rosebank, a Malt Whisky from a now silent distillery, which delivers top notes of fresh fruits and a sweetness from the ex-Bourbon oak casks in which it was originally matured to the elegant blend.
